“One of the pieces I’m most satisfied with.” — Stuart Adamson, Melody Maker interview, March 26, 1990

“East of Eden”  is track 3 on side 1 of Disc 2 of the 1984 2LP UK compilation “Now That’s What I Call Music 4”  This version is unique to this release. The 1984 CD did not include ‘East of Eden’ and the 2019 2CD re-release contained the 7” version ◆

“A slightly different version to the album and single versions of this song. The change occurs at 3:35 where an extra chorus is sung instead of the instrumental break. This mix only available on the UK compilation album "Now That's What I Call Music - Volume 4" The Rough Mix of "East Of Eden" on the 2014 editions of "Steeltown" also feature this extra chorus at 3:35 interestingly enough.”  - 'Pie Ness' on YouTube
